Nick Bosa Will Not Return to Ohio State This Season, Chooses to Focus on the NFL Draft

Nooooo! This one hurts. The Buckeyes have been having huge issues on the defensive side of the ball lately, but we’ve all just kept saying”Just wait til Bosa is back!” Well, he’s not coming back. Instead of trying to come back from the core muscle injury he suffered against TCU in Week 3, he has decided to shut the door on his college career and start rehabbing/training for the NFL Draft.

As a Buckeye, I think this is a Charmin Ultra Soft move. He’s making this decision in October, not late November. Why not try and rehab? Come back and see if you can help the team? I guess when the money gets in the way, people’s competitive juices get sucked out of the them. When Denzel Ward sat out of the bowl game last year, I was mad but I understood it. There is way too much time left for Bosa to make this decision now. You’re costing us a great chance at the playoff and a National Championship, Nick! What are you doing?!

Coming into the season, he was projected to be a Top 5 pick at the end of the year. After his dominating performances in the first couple weeks, he had made his way up to #1 on almost every single mock draft. In the three games that Bosa played for the Buckeyes this season, he was an absolute terror on the defensive line. He had four sacks, six tackles for loss, and 14 tackles. He also forced a fumble for a touchdown and recovered a fumble for a touchdown. In his entire college career, literally no one could not block Bosa.

I guess if I wasn’t looking at this through an Ohio State lens, I would say Nick is probably making the right decision. Make sure you are healthy, and go get your money. The #1 pick in the NFL Draft this past year signed for $33 million. Is beating Michigan, winning a Big 10 Championship, and contending for a National Title worth gambling a 30 million dollar payday? Probably not. But damn I wish it was.
